Description

This program is a hot-key enabled console which allows you to start any applications, open any documents, URLs, mail addresses and folders. Forget shortcuts and various fast start panels. This program will suit those who love *nix systems, who are used to run applications through the command line, who type fast and who like hot keys.

What’s new

0.0000001а - 28.06.2001 version
[+] Initial version. It even works! :)

0.9beta - 30.06.2001 version
[+] Interface slightly changed
[*] The program does not quit any more, if the path is not found.
[+] Added a start up check if the program has been already started.

0.91beta - 02.07.2001 version
[*] The WinConsole.ini file is not open any more for the whole duration of the program run.
[+] Fast type mode for the application alias has been added.

0.92beta - 14.07.2001 version
I have the very first responses and hence a lot of innovations. I think, along with new bugs... :(
[+] WinConsole.ini is called WinProgs.ini now
[+] WinConsole.ini is used to keep configuration settings now. It resides in the Windows directory
[-] Deleted the stupid start up check. Who wants, now can run any number of copies of the program. In this case, the hot key will work only for one of them. Some people had troubles with this start up check.
[*] Focus is not lost after pressing the hot key any more. Though, now the program window hides at start up, shows again and hides again. I do not understand why, but it works!
[+] The fast type hint now works 3 times faster - in 1/10 second!
[+] Fast type hint for hide and exit added.
[+] New menu item added - About WinConsole... :)))
[+] New menu item added - Settings. These settings are stored in WinConsole.ini. And now you can:
[+] Change the console window mode to standard or 'always on top'
[+] Switch off autofill.
[+] Change the hot key.

Версия 1.0 - 01.08.2001
First version is not a beta!
[+] Interface changed.
[+] If the WinProgs.ini does not contain the entered alias, WinConsole tries to execute this command with command.com (optional). So, we have full support for the command line. MS-DOS mode settings are taken from the Prompt.pif file.
[+] *nix autofill mode may be used now (with the TAB (Bash) key). Who requested that, do know what they wanted!
[+] You can change font and background colors.
[+] Font changed to Courier as more suitable for the console, IMHO.
[+] New feature - ReRead Config. You can change settings without reloading the program.
[*] Fixed the bug when the program could not find its files when started from the Register.
[+] WinConsole.ini moved from the Windows directory to its own directory. Put all the eggs in the same basket!
[+] Autostart along with the Windows!
[+] Standard window focus mode for Win2000.
[+] Console window may have position specified by the user.

1.1 - 04.08.2001 version

[+] You may set your own font size.
[+] You may set other font parameters: bold, italic.
[+] You may change console dimensions.
[-] Hide command is taken off. It's easier to press the hot key once more instead.

[+] Hide/show function optimized. It is not minimize/maximize any more. Hence, you do not hear the sounds associated with these actions.
[+] You can hide the console by pressing Esc.
[+] You may hide a tray icon either through settings, or running the WinConsole.exe with the '-hide' parameter.
[+] The configuration file settings may have parameters for applications.
[+] Aliases accept parameters.

[-] Due to the above feature, command format changed.
[+] And now the program does not accept old configuration file and empty lines in the WinProgs.ini file (side effect :))).

[+] Introduced optional register recognition settings - either as in Windows (UPPERCASE = lowercase), or as in Linux (UPPERCASE != lowercase).
[+] You can open web pages and send e-mail messages directly form the console.
[*] Fixed a couple of insignificant bugs, do not remember exactly which ones... :(
[+] Command history items are moved by up/down arrows.

[+] If autofill feature is enabled (default), then the pressing TAB key confirms the option offered.
